Puss in Boots is kind of a prequel to the Shrek movies, and it shows what Puss was up to before he met Shrek and Donkey. The movie starring the voices of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris, Constance Marie, and Guillermo del Toro takes place in the years before Puss met up with his famous friends. Puss meets up with an old friend turned rival, Humpty Dumpty. Humpty and Kitty Soft Paws get him involved in a plot to steal back the Golden Egg.
